Wow I have never heard anyone mention Giant Panda on these boards. I'm from Rochester where they were formed and remember when they were just another local band. They just played their New Year's Eve show up here and it was killer. Didn't realize that many people outside of Western NY were on to them now until I saw your post although I know they have done a lot of the jam festival circuit.

Mr Cop...Mr Cop...we don't want you searchin...we been all day working..
Wonder how that will go over with the City Council. I like it. No poking fingers in people's eyes, mellow, good times.
Not so much with Kanye West and performers who can't seem to keep from putting out music that is IN YOUR FACE WITH EXPLICIT LYRICS.
OK...end of rant. Guess the folks in Bama are nursing hangovers this morning. Cheers!

I'm ok with a Taylor Swift show. I saw these folks mentioned on Jazz Fest lineup rumors; Hozier, Neutral Milk Motel, Bela Fleck, Steve Winwood, The Who, Nicolas Payton, Elton John, Wilco, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga and I would enjoy seeing any and all of these options. Hozier, NMM, Steve Winwood and Wilco are probably the most likely given schedules, cost, etc. These options are also available and near the area; Justin Townes Earle The North Mississippi Allstars, Tedeschi Trucks, Decemberists, Fall out Boys, Milky Chance, Modest Mouse, No Doubt with Modest Mouse being very likely as their 2014 show was a blast and they would want to promote their new album. I would like to see No Doubt on the beach. Moon Taxi has some space on their Calendar and seem to enjoy HOF. Ditto OCMS. Jack White, Foo Fighters and RHCP are getting a lot of talk...I tend to lean with those who say there are enough new performers out there to avoid repeat headliners. Whatever and whoever, I am all in for 2016 Hangout Fest! I have found new performers in the past there that were awesome (Delta Rae, Jason Isbell, Moon Taxi, Drew Holcomb to name a few)and some that were pretty nasty (Big Freedia) so there has definitely been something for everyone at Hangout over the years.

I hope Hangout Festival and Governor's Ball share few (Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, The Decemberists) common performers. I believe Hangout can do a lot better than Drake. There are some fantastic performers out there like North Mississippi All Stars, Tedeschi Trucks, No Doubt, Mellencamp, Government Mule Pink Floyd, Ray Le Montagne, Pearl Jam, and others to avoid having repeats and making Hangout look like somebody else's festival.
I would love to see Grace Potter, Moon Taxi, Jason Isbell, and OCMS on the undercard as returners.
Shout out to Kings of Leon...not getting a lot of love on other boards but that show rocked at Hangout. Ditto RHCP, Jack White, Foo Fighters, Gary Clark, Amos Lee.
C'mon Hangout...rock our world!

Would also love The Dead reunion to make a stop at Hangout. Rumor is they are only going to do a few major festivals and then a east coast west coast residency. Insurance companies want to much to insure bc of bobby canceling last tour. Would be a great Sunday Night boogie.

That would make my life but there's almost no chance of that happening. Most likely they'll do Lock'n, and a residency or two.

It would appear that there is a method to the festival lineups. Depending on what part of the country you are in, there is an attempt to put something for everyone in there. Take Gov'sBall 2015...they even put Sturgill Simpson in there for the country folks in NYC LOL.
Hangout Friday nights and even Thursday parties have been great. Zac Brown, KOL, Jack White and Black Keys were all great shows. Saturday night with Tom Petty, Widespread Panic, Foo Fighters and RHCP were hard to beat. Sunday night is the night where I scratch my head. I have spent 3 out of 5 of those shows at the pool. Hope they can raise the bar this year. Heck...the Doobie Brothers, Santana, Aerosmith - somebody that can close the beach out and has more than a handful of #1s over the years.
6 more days....

Sundays have been my favorite night by far over the years. Outkast was the best Hangout show in its history by a mile to me. Trey was the best headliner in year one (and I'm not a Phish fan). Stevie was the best headliner his year. Paul Simon his year. However, that Dave Matthews show was complete garbo and I think he'd tell you the same thing. To each their own, but man, 80% of the time, my favorite is on Sunday. Kings of Leon and The Black Keys are way too bubblegump for my tastes. I want to see something special.

I was at hangout in 2011 and that Paul Simon show was incredible.. I went 2012 as well ( I can't stand Dave) but from all the other years lineups sunday headliner has been the best.. Really would LOVE to see a big time band like the dead or phish play Sunday this year

Someone on the Inforoo board said that The Devil Makes Three will be on the undercard. I would like that!
