Just took that survey myself. I don't see any way this fest doesn't last long term. They did a great job this year.

As far as electronic i think its safe to say its time for Bassnectar to return. Other people id love to see Lupe Fiasco, J cole, MGMT, St Vincent, La Roux, Chromeo, GOGOL (again!) i'm sure there's more....

Been keeping an eye on new acts and folks putting out new music. Old Crow Medicine Show's new release is awesome. Time to have them back. I liked Ed Sheeran's new release. Got some good dance in the sand vibes. Jason Mraz's new release is also really good. Kinda more of the Jack Johnson-ish sound that would be groovy around sunset on the beach. I'm all in for a Fleetwood Mac Sunday closer. If you have not heard Jamey Johnson, you are missing one hell of a musician. I definitely would like to see him play at Hangout. Kacey Musgrave would also be a hoot. Also support Jack White making another appearance. Nine months to go. Guardians of the Galaxy....awesome soundtrack.

Give me umph, chromeo, and foster the people in the undercard or give me death. I'm def also all for foster the peeps. I'm very sad that I have to pass over them this October at ACL BUT they conflict with childish gambino and I missed him for Gary Clark this past HOF so I promised myself I'd see gambino at acl over whoever he opposed. I think lupe fiasco would be a awesome rap artist to grab. cherub would be sweet. But let's make tenacious d on the beach happen!

Some new music from previous Hangout performers that is worthy of your listen:
Ingrid Michaelson - Lights out 11 Nov 2014 Foo Fighters - Sonic Highways 10 Nov 2014 Zac Brown - Greatest Hits So Far 10 Nov 2014 (technically old stuff but good compilation)
In other news...Jason Isbell won album, song, and artist of the year at Americana Music Awards Sept 18, 2014
Old Crow Medicine Shows "Wagon Wheel" awarded the BMI Country song of the year.
Looking forward to May on the beach!

Jungle, Mø, Jagwar Ma, Cut Copy, Typhoon, St Lucia, Primal Scream, Mayer Hawthorne, Yeasayer, Foals, Poolside, Banks, Classixx, Jon Batiste & the Stay Human, The Knocks, Watsky, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Ana Tijoux, Allen Toussaint.
Can't be sure but pretty sure most if not all of them have never played Hangout before.

Updated wishlist based on what bands/artists are at least possible and not out of Hangout's demo/likelihood:
Hangout Stage Headliners:
Pearl Jam * Foo Fighters * Fleetwood Mac Coldplay Mumford & Sons Muse AC/DC Jack White * Kanye West
Chevy Stage Headliners:
Robert Plant & The S.S.S. * Foster The People * The National Calvin Harris/Skrillex (too big for Boom Boom Tent) My Morning Jacket * The Dead Weather Smashing Pumpkins Vampire Weekend Lorde
Additional Undercards:
The Decemberists Of Monsters & Men Sam Smith St. Vincent Weezer Chromeo Umphrey's McGee Head & The Heart Chvrches Interpol Primus Bleachers Gaslight Anthem Broken Bells Future Islands DFA 1979 Big Gigantic Milky Chance Chet Faker Run The Jewels Misterwives
* = my ideal top 6 from these choices
Again these aren't necessarily my ideal picks for a festival but all are reasonable for Hangout and fit the usual demo.

I would love nothing more than to get the D on the beach but they don't play festivals often and I would never get my hopes up for them.

As far as an accurate prediction goes, Fitz & The Tantrums might be making a return next year, and more than likely Moon Taxi and Flaming Lips. I strongly predict either Coldplay, U2, Radiohead, RHCP, or Pearl Jam to headline. At least one of them.
Headliners Wishlist- Coldplay, U2, Jack White (or one of his associated acts), Tom Petty, The Hives, RHCP, Muse, and Aerosmith or Van Halen. I can wish right?
Non-headliner wishlist - Foals, MuteMath, Band of Skulls, Alabama Shakes, Fitz & The Tantrums, Asteroids Galaxy Tour, The Ting Tings, Foster The People, Cage The Elephant, My Morning Jacket, Kasabian, Wolfmother, Jurassic 5, and Lana Del Rey.
It's all wishful thinking.

Hoping that Hangout planners will NOT put the older performers or the rockers (jeans and leather) on the Chevy stage when the sun is at the right angle to cook the performers. Blackberry Smoke, new album coming soon, Steve Winwood, Mavis Staples and Amos Lee have all pulled the time slot, around 1-3 PM, when the sun would melt a mule. They gave it their best shot, but sure would have like to see them in some shade or at night. The young, high energy bands seem to handle the sun much easier. Just a thought.
I have tickets to see Tedeschi Trucks at the Tivoli in Chattanooga so checking that box. Some other bands I would like to see (new) or come back because I missed their sets are: My Morning Jacket, Amazing Rhythm Aces, Yim Yames, The Railers, Perpetual Groove, Warren Haynes, Moon Taxi, Jason Isbell, Amos Lee (anytime), and Smashing Pumpkins. Will cross my fingers HOF will cough up the bucks for a significant classic closer like Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, John Cougar Mellencamp, or Santana.
Another idea would be to bring in a couple Contemporary Christian groups like Chris Rice, Chris Tomlin, Caedman's Call or Casting Crowns for a Sunday morning session. That would be awesome good. I would love to get up and listen to something positive spiritually around 9:00 on Sunday Morning on the beach.
Best wishes to all and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!
