Between Warren Haynes-band-mule-et al, and Tedeschi Trucks Band, you are looking at some of the best blues guitarists in the south. The North Mississippi Allstars were scheduled at one of the first HOFs and one musician went down leaving two to pull off the performance. Good...but not up to what they are doing these days. They would be another returner who would blow it out on the sand.
What are the HOF's new policies or rules you referred to?
About 5 more months. I'm already antsy for the cold weather to go away.
Coming in 2015....new releases by; Kid Rock (Feb), Def Leppard (May), Bob Dylan (TBA), Coldplay, Duran Duran, Fleetwood Mac, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, and Muse....among others. I would love to see a couple of these bands on the beach at the main stage!

Re new policy: The city council had Hangout include a clause in the new contract that they not book artists with a history of on stage drug use. Initially the clause said something along the lines of a history of drug use or references, but they clarified it as on stage use during the final version. I'm pretty active on the other board and I know a bunch of people on here are as well but I'll just post this here as well in case some of you are not: So as of now, the most likely bands are: My Morning Jacket (will be touring, Jim James pic on Hangout's Facebook page) J Roddy Walston and the Business (random tour stop in Florida the Thursday of Hangout week) Neutral Milk Hotel (open weekend for Hangout with a Florida lead up) Tame Impala (Levitation in Austin the weekend before)

Thanks for the info! A history of no on-stage drug use...hmmmm. You can incite violence, call my mama a ho, be drunk as a skunk, and jiggle whatever, but if you got caught on cell phone ten years ago on stage somewhere with a twisted you can't play at the HOF....interesting.
Hope North Mississippi Allstars shows up at HOF this year....whoops...can they pass the test? I think the Stones are out because of that weekend out in California with Hells Angels.

I'm in for My Morning Jacket, Tame Impala, and J Roddy...the milk folks meh...they have a new album coming out?
Ever listened to Dead Fingers? I really like Jakob Dylan and would like to see him at HOF. I found The Rubber Knife Gang over the last few months and would love to see them on the Hangout Restaurant Stage (BMI??).
If we need to get the funk on...sure hope it's Bruno Mars.
Oh...is there another board? I enjoy the Bonnaroo board...informational, and the cover HOF stuff.

Yeah I was referring to the Hangout Thread on Inforoo which is at 54 pages right now. Most of it is hard to read though. Haha. And yeah, a lot of bands have a video out there of them on stage. It will be interested to see how strictly this is enforced or if it was just to placate the council.
I'd enjoy North Mississippi Allstars for sure. Had never heard the Dead Fingers but just checked them out on YouTube and would be interested. I'm a Jakob Dylan fan as well. I was hoping The Nauts would be up and running by now but nothing ever seemed to come from their pending album and their Facebook and Twitter seem to be abandoned. Definitely dig the Rubber Knife Gang. That'd be a fun show.
Funk wise, I'd enjoy Robert Randolph (semi funk) or Lettuce.

they don't know anymore about who is going to be at Hangout 2015 than I do and every year the staff seems like the do a pretty good job of balancing the money, availabilities, genres, etc.

Yeah, it's just a little more active and there are some people who actually do some digging. For the 54 pages you could probably get 3-5 of quality posts with new information but I take Hangout info wherever I can get it. I hope they keep the balance. That's a big worry of mine. They pretty much took out all of the "jam" stuff last year which is where my heart is but I have Peach and Lock'n for that usually. I go to Hangout for variety, to find some new favorite bands, to hang out on a beautiful beach half a country away and hang with some good people.

I know a lot of the "good" people from there (sparkysarah, krisp, zen, zaj, etc.) come here, which says a lot about your site. Only quality here!

I can honestly say that the folks I have met at Hangout were friendly, nice and fun to hangout with. It is hard to get all stressed out and tensed up with the sun, beach, sand, and happy music-vibe that Hangout brings. Just hope they keep on keeping on.
Sounds like we have a lot of musical tastes in common. One of the coolest things about these festivals are all the new good bands you meet that you probably would not have otherwise. I hope some of those bands you mention make it into the lineup.
We gotta try to meet up somewhere this year (2015).

Yeah, we kinda dropped the ball last year on meeting up. In our defense, it was almost impossible to meet because the lineup was strong and the scheduling worked out mostly well. Very rarely did we have a time slot that there wasn't at least one "you can't miss this!" act.

Bob, give these a shot. These guys subbing for Neil Young would be perfect, though I don't see that happening.

Mr. Bob!!!!! Yes, I especially like their studio stuff. Hope they play at a stage where the sound is decent. Maybe it is just the poor camera work, but the live stuff I have seen sounded pretty poor. But yes, groovy sounds for Hangout! Like I said earlier, there are soooo many good bands/performers out their that I have not heard, I appreciate the folks at Hangout who listen to all available and make the final line-ups they do. Solid five years of excellent music. Agree with Sarah that I could not see everyone I wanted to last couple years. That is why repeat acts do so well. I noticed you want this thread to be most likely and no more wish-lists...got it. Would you mind giving odds I might see one of the following in 2015?
North Mississippi Allstars Tedeschi Trucks Band Jason Isbell on a bigger stage Jakob Dylan Fleetwood Mac or John Cougar Mellencamp or Santana as a Sunday closer Moon Taxi on a bigger stage (they locked us out of the BMI? stage last year)
I really liked crackersoul's and Moten's lists on 10 Dec
