Hi folks!
I am a Hangout newbie and have a few questions.
I will be driving in from Jacksonville, FL the Friday the festival begins. I have an idea what to expect in terms of travel time between cities but I am a little concerned about what the traffic situation will be like once I arrive. I went to Bonnaroo a few times and the traffic is gnarley getting in and out of that festival (up to 4 hours for 2 miles on the interstate).
I want to make sure we leave enough time to drop our stuff off at the property we are staying (mainly the car since we can't check in until 4) and still make it to the festival grounds.
Any tips you can offer on which roads to take/how early to arrive would be much appreciated. Thanks!
We are staying about a mile west of the festival grounds.

Chris,
This is my 6th year so I have some experience. I assume you will take I-10 west to Hwy 59 and proceed south thru Foley, over Portage Creek (the big bridge), and then proceed south towards the beach on 59 til you are stopped one block from the beach (west 1st avenue). You will be directed by a traffic cop to turn right on west 1st avenue and you will go three intersection to West 3rd Avenue where you will turn left. You will then go one block and turn right on West Beach Blvd and proceed the mile west to your condo.
There is very little traffic Tuesday and into mid-day Wednesday. Wednesday night it gets medium level and by Thursday morning it is bumper to bumper. On Thursday night you could spend several hours trying to get from I-10 to your condo. By afternoon Friday the traffic is clear again until the show is over around 1030-11:00 pm. Every festival day morning til about 11:00 am (grocery or beer runs) it is almost like a ghost town. From about 10:00 pm Sunday night til 2:00 pm Monday afternoon, traffic is a slow roll at best...bumper to bumper and a long wait to get out of town.
An alternative (risky) is to try and go thru Pensacola, Perdido Key, etc, but you are going to fight west, east and two lane traffic. I have never been thru that traffic at festival time. Maybe someone else can chime in and give you some better information. I come in Tuesday and leave the following Tuesday to avoid the traffic. I try not to move my truck for the duration.

Quick update. We decided to book a hotel in Warrington for Thursday night. The idea is that we get the bulk of the drive (distance wise anyway) out of the way so that we can be on the road to Gulf Shores by 7 am. Under non-festival conditions it should take us around 45mins to get to gulf shores. That essentially gives us 5 hours Friday morning from when we leave the hotel in warrington to arrive at the condo and to get to the festival grounds. We would be traveling in on Highway 292 it looks like all the way to Gulf Shores. Thoughts?

Given there is a significant amount of two lane to travel and a lot of folks will be using the 292....it will take a while. The show Friday starts at 11:00 am. That would be 4 hours to get from Warrington to condo and then festival. It is what it is. I would put a smile on, double up on patience for breakfast, turn the radio up, and enjoy the day whatever happens. I'm sure you will get there sooner or later. Where is your condo?

Chris90Day - another update. From the other Inforoo Hangout 2015 site, folks said coming in isn't a problem however, getting back home is tough traveling on the east side of the Festival towards Pensacola.
