So how is the gulf state park? I'm coming from MS along with 2 people. Probably gonna bring a tent and rough it at the camp ground(When we're there, that is).. But is it nice or shitty? How close is it to the Hangout grounds?

State Park is great. There are electrical outlets at all sites and showers with power for girlie hair stuff and good showers. Also grills at all the sites. There will be trolley stops, but it is pretty expensive this year. If you can, bring a bike and ride to the festival. Not far, all flat, and there are bike racks at the festival.

And check out Spectrum Resorts for lodging as well...not cheap, so need a group to share the cost, but awesome digs for sure!

Thanks a lot! The info is definitely appreciated since this is our first time to go to Hangout. I think the other people coming with me are hell bent on camping though. I guess its for the full experience or whatever. Bought a tent for Bonnaroo last year so I think they wanna put it to use again. But again, I appreciate the info!

I camped at the Park last year, and things worked out great. It is a nice park (great amenities), but it's a little too far to walk to the festival from there. However, if you're patient, there are shuttles that will pick you up and drop you off near the park. And, be aware (as I'm sure you are if you're coming from MS), it's hot as hades, so make sure you bring a lot of sunblock and H2O. : )

Haha thank you! How is parking? Like say we wanted to drive from the camp site to somewhere near the fest? Or is it too bad trying to park?

Hey Hey, kids! This'll be Hangout Festival #2 for me…I have reserved a nice 2 bedroom 2 bath condo for the weekend and have spots open. The spots that are taken are GOOD PEOPLE! It is about a mile away from the festival site…EASILY walking/stumbling distance…shoot me a message on FaceBook if interested in the details. Hope everything is cool cool! Hey hey! I just (in a crazy random move!) picked up a couple more Hangout 3 Day Passes (after they sold out) from the condo we have reservations at. The condos all have their own exclussive deals to supply the renters with tickets, so I was able to get a couple more. Unfortunately, they were at a premium...they were $295 each, which is about $65 more than what they were selling for directly from Hangout. I also have a couple spots open in the condo we have rented, which is about a mile away from the festival...easily walking/stumbling distance (and means you don't have to pay the extra $40 each for the "shuttle passes"). It is a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom that technicaly sleeps 6 (with the sleeper sofa), but we are squeezing another 4 in on the floor w/air mattress, to try to keep costs REASONABLE. There are 3 price ranges for the condo: BED: $195 (X4) TAKEN SLEEPER SOFA: $175 (X2) STILL AVAILABLE FLOOR: $155 (X4) TAKEN So, per person, for the 3 Day Pass AND the sleeper sofa spots in the condo, would be $470 I'm not a scammer, I'm (practically) a professional festival/party kinda cat, who is all about meeting new people and pulling the love together. If you needed testament as to my character, if you are interested in joining us, we will add each other on facebook, and I will invite you to join RIKI JEE'S KALOOPAHGROOP, which has about 160 members and was created specifically for my festival friends to keep in touch and stay on the same page with regards to festivals we'll all be together at again. You can chime in and ask people in there about my character (I'm actually quite curious as to what they'll say!). So, that's it! Lemme know! Riki Jee www.facebook.com/charmingfrog603-624-0136

Hangout just posted earlier today to keep an eye on this twitter account for daily lodging deals: twitter.com/#!/HangoutLodging (Looks like nobody has used it in a couple months, but they are about to update it daily)

I use VRBO to rent a condo at Island Winds West. It is literally 20 yards from the fest front gate. We really enjoyed the convience of it last year!
I, of course, rented again from them for this year. But, I just wanted to plug them for having clean, close condos.

I heard some folks got super cheap VIP's last year from that condo.
