Wow. Really nice. What are your thoughts on the lineup? Who would you like to see added?

This is the deepest card they've ever had. There is tons of stuff I'm looking forward to. Can't believe they got Lupe.

Since I do not know over half of these performers, any insight into who would be your top ten from the third line down would be helpful. That might make for a good thread. Cheers!

Shew. Here goes, initially without doing any research.
15. Beats Antique 14. Toro y Moi 13. Zac Brown Band (I hate country, but dig this band) 12. Spoon 11. Father John Misty 10. Houndmouth 9. Strand of Oaks 8. Foos 7. Beck 6. J Roddy 5. Future Islands 4. Phantogram 3. TV on the Radio 2. Lupe Fiasco 1. My Morning Jacket
There are others I'm looking forward to as well. But I had to stop here.

I would have put the Foos and ZBB way up there at the top, however, having already seen ZBB three times in last five years, not as excited to see them again. If Dave Grohl will jam with Zac, that will be worth the ticket. Appreciate the analysis. I have not seen but will give - Drive by Truckers, Colony House, Foster the People, Galactic with Macy Gray, Houndmouth, and Vintage Trouble a listen. I am not big on EDM or Hip Hop, but looks like that is pretty well covered if a person does.
I would have liked to trade Foos and ZBB for someone new. Wonder if repeats were a budget decision.

90% of the artists are all new to me! But I expected that... Gives me a good chance to actually go and listen to something I dont already have on the Ipod.

Seeing the backlash on facebook is hilarious to me. I mean if you look around at the other festivals this year at least Hangout is being different. None of the 3 headliners we have are anywhere else and we dont have f*cking Drake or No Doubt or Imagine Dragons or anything like that. I'm "meh" on our #2 and #3 acts but I'm not gonna knock 'em till I see 'em. Maybe it's just geared towards my tastes but this is my favorite undercard Hangout's had at first glance. Usually I pick up like 5-6 new bands after researching so to look at this and instantly know I want to see 20+ bands right off the bat is awesome to me. Here's where I'm at with this...
Foo Fighters Zac Brown Band (pending conflict) Beck (pending conflict) Skrillex (pending conflict) My Morning Jacket FOster The People Spoon Umphrey's McGee TV On The Radio Phantogram Damian Marley (pending conflict) Dirty Heads Lupe Fiasco Cold War Kids Future Islands Vance Joy (pending conflict) Galactic Father John Misty Trampled By Turtles Griz Drive By Truckers Gramatik J Roddy Walston The Mowgli's Strand of Oaks Misterwives
I feel I'll be there early everyday because some of the acts towards the bottom of this card I already know like the last 5 above. Also if history repeats itself and Hangout schedules like last year, I think there's a great chance Umphrey's will be in the tent opposing one of the headliners I'm not crazy about. They're one of my favorite bands so even though they're not a headliner they'll be my final act for the day and I love that. Now it's time for the best part- researching and finding new bands to throw on the IPod.

I don't know many of these bands. Some of my favorites are: Head and the heart, Mumford, Dawes, Al Shakes, Amos Lee,Avett Bros, Cold Play, DMB, Jack Johnson, Jamestown Revival, etc.. any bands this year that are similar to those listed?

I like those bands too herbie- especially DMB, Avetts, and Mumford. You will love Trampled By Turtles. You'll definitely like Zac Brown Band too. I think if you give My Morning Jacket a shot you'll like them a lot too. Great elements of acoustic/electric guitar, some sax from time to time, soft and heavier songs. I'd be surprised if you didn't like them. Of all the "jam bands" out there, Umphreys McGee is my favorite. More than Phish, Widespread Panic, String Cheese, etc. They're a little poppier in their vocals and choruses etc but I like that. Musically that band is just off the wall talented. All the bands I just listed are known for how they are live though more so than studio. Which obviously has me that much more excited. I think you could get behind the mowglis and vance joy pretty easily as well.

In regards to additions, I wouldn't get my hopes up for anyone on the top 3 lines but I could def see Run The Jewels, Big Gigantic, and Royal Blood being added. No conflicts for any of them, Big G has a reputation for playing with Griz and Gramatik and forming a supergroup Big Grizmatik, the lineup is lacking hip hop right now and RTJ fits that piece, and Royal Blood are touring with the Foos this year so idk why they're not on there already.

I count 64 performers to date and that includes The Word. I think there will be about 10 more additions between now and then. Probably not at the top. I think they have a contest for local bands so that would be a couple...and they will surprise you cause there is some talent on the gulf coast! Given the "something for everybody" approach HOMF takes, and we have a bluesy-gospel-R&B act for Thursday, maybe a Sturgill Simpson, Moon Taxi, St Paul and the Broken Bones type entry, and some one like Fitz for the Palladia stage as a closer.

Pretty excited to finally see Beck, TV On the Radio, and Spoon. And GriZ! I've been trying to see Beck and Spoon for a very long time. GriZ is the shit check him out if you like some chill bassy music. Foo Fighters, Umphrey's, MMJ, Vintage Trouble, and Drive By Truckers are always great so pretty excited about those as well. I only got to see Beats antique play three songs the first year I went so looking forward to seeing them again. Pretty strange stuff but I like it. I was thrilled to see the name Galactic for a millisecond until I saw it followed by "with Macy Gray." The Word should be awesome though. And Phantogram should be as well plus Sarah Barthel is really hot.

Thanks, I know a few Trampled songs and 1 Vance Joy song. I caught the mowglis 2years ago at Hangout and liked show but they are alittle poppy. Was hoping Mumford would headline and Jim James and Marcus would do a couple New Basement Tapes songs.
