I am looking for information about the shuttle bus services offered by Hangout. Did people have a good experience with them? Which lines were easier to get on the shuttles?
I have a reservation for the Beachside Resort Hotel, but the hotel reviews are pretty horrifying. I would like to stay close enough to walk to the festival, but I'm concerned that this hotel will be SO bad that we won't even be able to stay there.
HAS anyone stayed at the Beachside Resort Hotel before and have anything to say about their stay???
I am driving 16 hours to the festival, so I'm just trying to figure out what I should do.
I camped two years ago and we biked to this festival. But, I got heat stroke on the second day and then missed like all the bands. NOT trying to repeat that.
Any information is very much appreciated!!!!!! Thanks,
AMy

When we went in 2012, we camped at the state park but this year we decided to book a nearby condo. Has anyone heard anything about condos being overly strict about the maximum capacities? Or do they use any sort of wristband system that would prevent another person or two from crashing on the floor, etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've stayed at Island Winds for the past two years. They provide wristbands for you and your guests, but no one actually checks them. We didn't even bother to wear them last year.

The condo I rent looks like the 90's threw up all over it, but it's clean and so convenient!

It is literally right outside the west gate. I can hear the mainstage from my balcony.

Oh, this just occurred to me. They are very strict on how many cars you park in their parking lot during the fest. You are given so many parking passes, depending on your capacity. If a valid parking pass isn't hanging on your rear view mirror, you WILL be towed.

Whether you're looking for info on condos, camping, hotels, shuttles or the like, post it in this thread. Here are the links to the condo companies that we've had luck with in the past. www.meyerre.com/WyndhamBrett RobinsonHere is the closest campground. Gulf State Park

Is Island Winds booked up? How big is the condo? I got a friend looking for a bigger place, hers is tiny and can't fit many people.

My condo is 1 bed & 1 bath with a sleeper sofa. It sleeps 4. However, I believe there are other condos within Island Winds with larger floor plans. I have no idea if they're available. I use Alabama Beach Vacations to rent my condo. Check their availabilities. Albvr.com

there are two Island Winds (East and West). They are next to each other but are separate condos. They the two buildings directly behind the main stage in this pic: they have been booked for HF for some time, although there could be a few lineup-release cancellations. there are lots of easily walkable condos in both directions if those are full. The condo I rent looks like the 90's threw up all over it, but it's clean and so convenient! yeah...same here. i'm just glad the TV is a flatscreen!

However, I believe there are other condos within Island Winds with larger floor plans. East has 3BR's on the corners...not sure about West. both have 2BRs.
