Hello Hello. So I am going to my first festival in the US (Live in the UK) and have a few questions that I am hoping one of you wonderful people will be able to anwser for me! 1. Will I need ID for alcohol, I am 26 years old - also what is the legal drink age in this area? 2. Where should I stay, prefer somewhere I can meet people easily and make some friends (travelling solo) 3. How good is Hangout 2015 going to be (Especially now I will be attending) 4. Do people generally party back at the Condo's after the festival - 11pm seems a little early to call it a night! 5. Almost forgot - VIP - is it worth it and is it true you get free drink and food included? Any advice would really help me out!

Welcome to Dixie (the southern part of the USA)
1 - Drinking age is 21 and everyone has to show an ID. I believe you can get a wrist band so that you will not have to show the id over and over. Hangout Festival is mostly in the sun. If you drink a lot during peak sun...you might not make it thru the evening. Be prepared for a lot of sun. 2 - Condo is best if you have the money. If you have the money ($2,000???) ...they have packages that are pretty much all inclusive for condo, shuttle bus, food and drinks. There are also campgrounds in the area. Check one of the other threads regarding places to spend the night during Hangout. 3 - Hangout is always fantastic In My Opinion (IMO). The lineup should come out next week. Usually something for everybody. Weather and fun on the sand is awesome. Gulf of Mexico seafood is plentiful. And lots of beautiful and friendly ladies! 4 - Parties everywhere after the show. Some really good ones out on the beach. Just remember that the police are active and you can get yourself in the jailhouse if you are too drunk, in the wrong place at the wrong time, possess drugs, etc. Given the 35,000+ people in the area, probably less than 100 wind up in some sort of trouble. You should be fine. Carry your passport on you. 5 - My condo is right next door, I am a master chef, and I do not drink a lot so VIP is not worth it. I get front row center stage if I want and can move around without restrictions. Some folks like VIP. It is like $1,000. Your choice.
Hope you have a great time. People in London were really helpful to me when we were touring the UK. Most of the people in LA (Lower Alabama) are really kind and will help you out.

It will be my first visit to the US so I am just abit worried about making mistakes and doing something stupid. - I hope you enjoyed your trip to the UK and I am glad us Londoners looked after you mate. Once again thanks... If anybody else has any advice for me that may make my trip a little easier feel free to let me know. See you all there!!!

Look around on this board, especially at the General info forum. That has info on lodging and VIP and nearly everything else.

Welcome to Dixie! Bob pretty much summed it up for you.
I will say, being a person who goes VIP, that one of the biggest perks (aside from the free food and drink and air conditioned bathrooms) is the Main stage VIP area. In the heat of the day, nothing feels better than plunging in the pools right next to the stage.

Swimming pool, air conditioned bathrooms and Free drink - Sign me up :)thanks Sparks! I have emailed them to ask when tickets will go on sales, as I do not want to book flights if I do not manage to secure a ticket... Would anyone know when they do go on sale and also if they generally sell out quickly?

I believe early bird tickets have already sold out. The next round of tickets will be available after the lineup drops, which, according to Pallidia's schedule, looks to be on or before the 13th. Pallidia schedule - check the 13th

Jaysav, The first time I visited Gulf Shores I called a couple realtors that rent. Brett-Robinson and Meyer are sponsors of the event. You might give them a call, tell them your situation, and they were pretty helpful to me in trying to find the best value for what I could afford. Obviously, the farther away, the better the deal.
www.brett-robinson.com/ www.gulfshores.com/details/meyer-vacation-rentals/249/
www.alapark.com/parks/images/gulf/Events/Campground-Map.pdf
Maybe contacting someone at one of these sites might help. A lot of folks will not rent to people under a certain age or require a minimum stay. I go down on Tuesday the week before and come back the Tuesday after the show. Traffic is rough Thursday and Monday especially. I have a packed condo as is. Hope you find something...this has been my annual vacation-trek to the beach and will keep going til I can't.

Beachbob you are a good man and I appreciate your help. I have managed to find a condo 15 minutes walk from the festival, works out at $700 dollars each for me and a friend who has decided to join me which I am happy to pay. The festival emailed me back saying tickets go on sale tomorrow. I am flying into Mobile on the wednesday before and fly out on the wednesday after.
Thanks again!!! Very excited now.

Hi Molten,
It is called Grand Beach... It looks pretty big, it is a short walk - 10/15 mins... Cannot ask for much more.
I would be more than interested to have some feedback if anyone knows of this place.
Thanks
