Never been to hangout but know there are people that watch/listen to concerts from boats at other festivals on the water and wanted to see if anyone ever sees other people doing this at HO?

I have seen a few boats a few hundred yards from the beach. Guess it depends on how close you get and how rough the wave action is at the time. The beach and gulf are monitored by security and they do not permit folks getting very close. I am sure the main stage would be loud enough and the fireworks would be pretty cool if you weren't getting tossed around. I have not tried it. If you know someone who has...sure folks would be interested.

Gene Ween from the stage at the 2011 Hangout Fest, pointing to the Gulf: “Hey, everybody look, a boat!” [Everybody turns to look at the boat.] Gene Ween: “FUCK YOU, BOAT!”
