To those of you who have been there before, can you give a few tips as to what you reccomend taking/wearing into the festival grounds?
Shoes (if any), packs (and the procedure they go through of checking them), etc.
Also, any insight into the police involvement/sutiation would be helpful too. I don't think I will be doing anything wrong, but I also don't want to be hassled. So tips on how to avoid that, or how to spot the undercovers would be nice.
And any other information, or things you found helpful, like weather they make you dump camelbacks, what they do or do not let inside, what to watch out for to avoid getting ripped off, good food/drink locations, what is available outside the festival..
You get the picture. Just a general feel for some things that stood out to you that would be helpful to others.

Def wear flip flops and as little clothing as possible. I wore my swimsuit the entire day and took a coverup to wear at night in case I got chilly. Also make sure you have an empty water bottle or camelback and sunscreen(no aerosol allowed), We carried in as little as possible. I was in VIP, so all I know about bag searches was told to me by people who were in GA. I heard the searches were pretty thorough and there were drug dogs. Again, I don't know if that's true. I also heard there were lots of undercovers and if you get caught with anything your wristband will be cut off and you won't be allowed to go back in the festival. Everyone last year said they couldn't tell the undercovers from festie goers. I'm not trying to hate, but I wouldn't take any chances. Baldwin County doesn't play around.

Man, I hope they don't have drug dogs and under covers. Cutting off the wristband? Like worst case should be they tell you to ditch it all and if they see it again or you get aggravated then you have to leave. And random: but does anyone know if they actual ocean is available for the public to play around in? (I assume the answer's No for safety reasons, but just thought I'd ask)

No, the ocean is fenced off for safety reasons.
Also, aerosol sunscreen is now allowed.

If anyone's still looking for a cheap comfortable pair of shoes I just bought the Nike Flip Flops with the insole cushioning. Very comfy and lightweight. Around $30 at Off Broadway Shoe Warehouse or DSW. Might need another pair for the weekend, so if anyone has another suggestions let me know. (:

I bought a pair of Keen Newports at Foley Outlets a couple years ago and they are the best shoes for Hangout ever. Easy to get on and off for the sand. Clip on my backpack or belt loops. Protect my toes in a crowd and vented cool. Bought my second pair at Dick's in Pensacola last week and ready for the beach, asphalt, whatever. They are more in the $70 range, but take a licking and keep on ticking.
It can get pretty cool at night with the sea breeze. Might need a light jacket for the beach after the show.
