READY TO HIT THE BEACH?
January 15, 2014
We’re excited to share the lineup for the 2014 Hangout Music Festival with you.
More Music
This year we have a new stage, the Red Bull Sound Select Stage. This means more music for our fans. We are announcing 64 bands this week. By the time we announce all the bands, we will have than 77. Plus, another 13 who will perform at our Thursday Pre-Party.
Fan Club Promo Codes and Hangout Pre-Sale Tickets
Hangout pre-sale tickets sold at a record rate. Same for the fan club promo codes. Tickets go sale today Thursday January 16 at 10 AM EST.
(Already passed)
Thursday Pre-Party
Wondering who is playing the Hangout’s Thursday Pre-Party? Girl Talk! That’s right, Girl Talk will be making sure that we get this party started – the right way. The full lineup for Thursday’s show (which is a separately ticked event) will be announced in February.
What’s New? ?
When you arrive at the festival site this May, you’ll find a new location for the BMI stage as part of the Alabama Seafood Courtyard where acclaimed regional chef’s will be serving up amazing, fresh seafood. The BMI stage is our commitment to showcase great talent before they break out.
?Feeling Romantic or Fashionable?
We’re adding a village of pop up boutiques where fans can shop for dresses, bathing suits, sunglasses and more. Even romance gets a boost with the Hangout Music Fest’s new beachside wedding chapel. Will be sharing more information soon!
Welcome Back
We are excited to welcome back eight bands to this year’s Hangout Music Fest!
Pretty Lights
STS9
The Avett Brothers
The Flaming Lips
Amos Lee
Trombone Shorty and New Orleans Avenue
Allen Stone
Soja
We’ll be in touch soon with more festival updates!
xxoo,
The Hangout

What do you guys feel will be the impact of these changes to the festival?
I think moving all of the craft/merch vendors into one, centralized area of the layout will be good. I imagine the marketplace will be set up in the dead center of the festival, where the merch vendors have been.
The moving of the BMI Stage into the Alabama Seafood Courtyard (which I assume will now be an open area, as opposed to a large covered tent) is a great idea because it'll draw more attention to that area of the fest. I barely saw anyone over by that tent last year at all the entire weekend, and I saw maybe one entire sign for it the whole weekend.
