I know there is a bunch of great acts I'd like to see little the undercard at Hangout next year. Like, for instance:
THE JOY FORMIDABLE - One of the best new bands that has come out of the last few years. Saw them at DeLuna Fest 2012 and they killed it! I've followed them for a really long time and would LOVE to see them again. There's no where really in the local area big enough for them to play, so the festival scene seems the most likely place for them to end up. Would be a great mid-tier main stage act or a Letting Go closer.
FRANK TURNER - Very British, and has that folk-but-rock sensibility and sound that Hangout seems to go nuts for. Hasn't done a real US tour in a long time for what I can tell and his new album is getting lots of buzz around the local scene. Would probably be best as a mid-tier man stage kinda act, like in the Jim James slot.
CHEAP TRICK - Would love to see Hangout go a little classic rock and throw these guys on the bill. They have a large fan base and a great back cataloge. Plus I've never seen them live unfortunately. Would be a great main-stage act for the fest, like a Gov't Mule/Jim James spot.
SOCIAL DISTORTION - YESSSSSSSSSSSSS. A true punk/blues hybrid that I have loved since I was a teenager. The only thing I feel prevents them from playing hangout is that they typically save their East Coast touring for the fall time. Maybe a few extra $$$ can pull them in. Would be an late Chevy stage act, playing that Grizzly Bear/Roots/Imagine Dragons slot, or maybe as a pre-headliner on the main stage.
CHVRCHES - Small, very up and coming folk band who's female lead vocalist ( I think her name is Lauren Mayberry) I have a bit of a crush on. Would be a great early main stage act playing either the Delta Rae or Shovels and Rope spot from last year.
Who are some of the bands you guys would like to see?
