I am gonna be in Gulf Shores for the first time from the 16th-24th and I am wondering what would be the best places to eat nearby. I'm not big on seafood but feel free to post some recommendations for those reading who do.

What's the place in the shopping center diagonal from the Hangout? We go there every year and have a big time and it's not outrageous monetarily. It's a little removed from the beach and it sits on the lagoon I believe. There aren't a whole lot of food options down there to be honest. Do not go to Ribs and Reds, you will die of starvation.
EDIT: It's The Oyster House and it's always good.

The oyster house isn't bad but its more for the tourist kinds. If you don't like seafood your not entirely out of luck, but don't expect to go to Italy and get a top shelf American burger or steak. This is the gulf coast, seafood is king. I have some favorite restaurants that I won't tell you but I think Tacky Jacks in Orange beach for brunch is great "overlooking the sunrise" and I really like Sea N suds a majority of the time. There will be so many people at the festival and the restaurants so packed it won't be the best time to visit the area for foodies. Bayou la Batre has killer seafood and there are select places all over Baldwin county if you really want to do some research.
Lamberts in Foley is a fun place "home of the thrown roll" and has Alabama size proportions. I hope that helps give you some really good ideas without spilling the beans on a couple of the best local places. I hope the locals read this and don't give out there top spots, but a hint would be checking out trip advisor and reading the reviews.
That said,
It may be better to get quick vendor food as some decent local restaurants have vendors at the fest and while pricey they aren't vastly overpriced and are under priced compared to say an NFL game. All four of those restaurants are in different geographic locations so anybody staying in the area can check them out as you have to pass by one of them to get to the fest and they make a box about 4-10 miles apart.

If you are down early, say weekend before HOF, I always go to Doc's Seafood in Orange Beach at the "T". Awesome fried seafood and best gumbo in the area (my opinion of course). They have a country boy lunch as well. Cosmos is the place to spoil your date. Music on the deck in the summer. Good bar and sushi. Cobalt's has the best Sunday Brunch. Believe it or not but Publix has great sushi and made fresh daily. Zen's, Perdido Beach Blvd, OBA, sushi chef is awesome. Tacky Jacks for wraps, fish tacos, etc. Lulus if you are a tourist and want a Buffett Burger. And finally, if you are in town on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, you want to go to the Undertow for AYCE royal red shrimp and crawfish.
When I drive down on Wednesday before the fest, I hit the Burris Market at the light in Foley Al for some fresh fruit and veggies. Usually strawberries are fresh in mid-may. Then the seafood market on 59 to pick up fresh steamed local fish, shrimp, gumbo, French bread, then Publix for some sushi, wine, Valencia Spring Blue Moon Ale, and anything else I need before parking at the condo for the duration.
Again, my opinion, if you can't cook your own, you can't beat the Hangout Restaurant for quality of food, seafood for sure, price, and a place to sit down and relax during the festival. Enjoy!
