Thought I would get this started. Some information from the last two:
2013 - $20 if you already had a GA. $45 without. Free with VIP. (11) Umphreys Mcgee, Benny Benassi, Dillon Francis, Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, Railroad Earth, Lotus, Quixotic, Reptar, Wick-the instigator, Future Rock, St Paul and the Broken Bones. I purchased my tickets on 18 April. I believe lineup was out around 26 Feb.
2014 - $34.74 each. No discount for already having a GA. Not sure about VIP. Purchased mine on 24 Feb. (12) Girl Talk, Iron and Wine, Go Down Moses, Dumpstaphunk, Bonobo, Bombay Bicycle Club, Wolfmother, Danny Brown, Bleachers, Magic Man, Classix, Jamestown Revival
The Bold are the groups I listened to.
So....we have The Word already announced. They are enough for me to buy a ticket. Wish they would give us a discount if already purchased a GA ticket like 2013. Every little bit helps. Need to come up with a better way to get from condos on the west-side around the construction and into the HWY 59 gate. They told me they are working it via email.

They're not on sale yet bud. I assume they'll put them on sale a day after they drop the lineup.

That walk in from the west side is the worst. Surprised someone hasn't been hit in years past.

That is one of my biggest Hangout complaints.

jr and sarah....I turned that problem into HOF via e-mail. They were kind enough to send me a reply and told me they forwarded it up the chain. They have been pretty proactive in addressing issues sent to them. They have added "repeaters" to correct sound system problems from last year. They improved the water bottle fill process a lot. They have worked access to the beach. Given some of the push back, they do a good job in my opinion. Opening the west access road while heavy equipment is completing construction is a tough nut to crack. I am looking forward to their approach to fixing the problem. I would hate to see someone get run over by incoming traffic while trying to go all the way around the construction area.

I remember you doing that and I appreciate it.
Maybe they can figure out a way to give safer west access on Thursday... maybe put some barricades up for pedestrian traffic. It could be something as simple as that.

I would like to see them activate the entrance to check tickets and let us in and also put a traffic cop (volunteer security) at the intersection between the crossing for the front loaders going to the beach and the people walking down Gulf Coast highway. A pedestrian overpass would be cool, but expensive and don't want any excuse for ticket prices to go up. Another option is to advertise an hour in and an hour out. The access would be open for two hours at say 5:00-6:00 PM and 11:00-12:00 PM. That would get most of the people off the street going around in the on-coming traffic and would also allow for front end loaders and workers getting final construction accomplished. Don't want to delay festival start-up on Friday either. I have been a construction project manager for many years...where there is a will...there is a way. Again, getting a bad rap/rep for putting concertgoers in a hazardous situation isn't cool....but, really like the pre-parties. I think they use these as a way to get some more good performers in around contract clauses. Awesome!

Super ready for this pre party lineup to come! It's stange its so late this year? I wonder if it has to do with ticket sales for the fest at all or just nailing down the final details?

Part of it probably is that they got the additions out so early they want to space it out a bit. Once pre-party is announced they have no real new until the schedule which is 2 months away at least. The daily lineup will be pretty much no news by the time it comes out.

what is the deal with this? Is it held on festival grounds or another seperate venue(s)? Something HOF planners came up with after a couple years. Probably a means to skirt around contract language that might limit bands playing at say, Jazz Fest, to be able to play within the vicinity clause...not sure exactly. But it has been a good thing for me. I go down on Tuesday so ready for a party on Thursday. I think one year the pre-party was just a couple bands at the Hangout Restaurant. That went over well so they expanded. It is limited to the concrete part of the festival site and currently accessible by HWY 59 main gate. We proboard people have been communicating with powers to be regards opening a west side access to keep us from getting killed walking around the construction and into on-coming traffic. Umphreys played one year, Drew Holcomb, Iron and Wine, Girl Talk last year, Railroad Earth, and others. Three smaller stages. About $40 this year probably. Good deal in my opinion. Hope that helps. Specific question? You might want to read from the start of this thread.

Announced lineup for Thursday pre-party is: The Word, Mayer Hawthorne, Talib Kweli, Keys N Krates, Grandtheft, Break Science, ASTR, Black Tiger Sex Machine, Cruisr. Except for The Word...never heard of these folks. Any comments? Must sees? Rate them 1 (bad) to 10 (outstanding)? Tickets go on sale this Friday for $40. I will buy one for sure.

Man.... What a huge let down. I've never heard of any of these artists and after researching them they're all either EDM, Rap, or pop. Last year's pre-party was absolutely incredible (I'm a huge Wolfmother fan). They need more indie rock bands thrown into the mix, although I understand this is just a pre party.
