Some of the local bands are as good as the middle of the lineup bands. Smaller crowds around them also is a plus.

If anyone has any advice on people not to miss I would be interested!! Im really excited to see some people that I know nothing about but if there are some small/medium size artists/bands that I should check out please let me know. Everyone's gonna have different opinions on this but here would be a short list of mine... Main Headliners- You might as well not even go to the fest if you skip Foo Fighters. They'll be the best show of the weekend. Chevy Headliners- I'm not a big EDM guy but Skrillex on the beach will be a crazy dance party. If there's not a big conflict I'll be there. Also My Morning Jacket will crush their sunset slot as well. Hopefully they get a good amount of time like an hr and a half. The Rest- If Umphrey's McGee plays in the tent at night then they are a can't miss for me. Foo Fighters will be unopposed so no worries there but I personally will see them over Beck and Zac Brown Band. Their light show is amazing and synced perfectly with their music, it's a whole different deal from seeing them during the day. Future Islands is a can't miss for me too. Their music isn't overly complex or catchy but they have very passionate and engaging live shows. They're a smaller band but given their notariety as of late they may be a closing act on a smaller stage. Some others that should be great shows for midday sets will be Frank Turner and Griz. Frank Turner has a folk-punk sound and would be great as a midday beach act and Griz is an EDM artist that incorporates the saxophone into his live shows and has some great beats as well. Not just standard corny, remixed EDM. Those are just the ones that pop out first and foremost.

Based on performers I have seen and heard live before, definitely recommend the Foo Fighters. I really enjoyed Zac Brown in 2010. His band is waaay underrated and when they added Preservation Hall Band on stage 2010, it was an equal headliner performance to anyone I've seen or heard at Hangout shows. Foos will rock your head off. Zac Brown is a more acoustic and earthy vibe with songs about life and living. I saw Umphreys McGee at previous Pre-Party and they are more rock jam that you can dance to and definitely have a great light show. A lot more instrumentation. North Mississippi All Stars are playing with some soul-gospel-R&B folks for the pre-party and I won't miss that. Their slide guitar, percussion, and delta blues sound is incredible. Everybody else will be new live for me and looking forward to "new" and "live".
If you like incredibly loud dance music with thousands of 20-30 years olds crammed into a tent...the Boom Boom Tent is the place to be. If you like new music in a smaller venue where you can get up close and maybe meet up with performers after the show, the Red Bull or BMI stages are for you (my favorites). Chevy stage is at the opposite end of the festival from my condo so it has to be someone really special for me to go the distance. I want to see My Morning Jacket, Beck, Future Islands, Vintage Trouble, and all the Nashville bands; Colony House, Elliot Root, and Natural Child.
I try to take the "don't worry, be happy" approach and if I miss someone...maybe next time. I would be surprised if you did not have a great time at the beach.

I honestly feel like regardless of the lineup, u have to try to not have fun at this fest. The lineup kicks it up a notch if there are acts you're really into, but the vacation like atmosphere there is just unmatched.

I don't wanna live in a world where Lenny Kravitz is billed #1 at any major festival.

Looking at ZBB at #8 on this behind some much smaller names just makes me sad that they're not #4/5 here. Foos/Sam Smith/ XXXXX/ Beck/ ZBB would be REAL good. And I am happy enough with the lineup and will probably have crazy conflicts as it is.

Well that fest is in Australia so their billing is probably gonna be different then here. ZBB probably isn't as big over there.

Very true, but still....just looking at it makes me cringe. And I'm actually going to try to catch some of Zac.

Hello everyone! I'm excited to see Foo Fighters & Zac Brown Band! Yes Foo Fighter should be amazing... I have not heard of Zac Brown Band, I do not think they are big here in England but if they do not clash with someone I want to see I will make sure I pop along to see if I like it.
