hey everybody just looking for some kind of definitive answer on the shuttle situation...haven't been down since 2011 and back then the shuttle system was brutal.. we were camping at gulf state park (which was excellent) but getting to and from the show also formed a "never again" mindset in my brain. hell one night we walked back to the campground. I've heard and seen in the last couple years that it was better. we are camping again at the park, and considered just riding our bikes the 3.5 miles to the show. looks like there are bike lanes the whole way and I don't feel like waiting an hour to get on a bus....also, last bus leaves 1/2 hour after close of show? leave no room if I wanna stick around and party near the show.

ha I'm glad someone else gives a damn!! yeah I guess they have a shuttle specifically for the state park...btw the state park camping is nice. super chilled vibe no one bothers you, beautiful huge pool. last time we were there everyone would hang early with coolers and have a couple before heading up to the show

I'm just curious about the shuttle situation in general.
I'm staying at the country hearth inn and I'm about 1 mile from the pelican place shuttle stop.
It's 3 miles to the fest or one to the shuttle stop. I'm wondering if the shuttle is worth it, but I really don't have another gameplan other than to maybe rent bikes.

I only used the shuttles in 2012, but my experience then was excellent. Definitely worth the price.

I used the shuttles in 2013 from the Publix in Orange Beach. We got to the fest at open on Saturday and later in the day Friday and Sunday and every shuttle to the fest was clean with little to no wait time. The end of the night shuttles home are a mad dash to get to the line but we never had a problem catching one. If you want to stay and party around the fest one night, the cost of a cab was like $16 to Orange Beach so it would probably be the same or less to the State park. Definitely worth the shuttle if you're staying that far down the East side.
