Friday looks like Ozomtali at main stage, then Los Colognes for a few songs than wind up at Chevy Stage to catch the end of Allen Stone. Then head back to grab some seafood and watch Valerie June and maybe Ingrid Michaelson. Depending on the weather, could be 4-6PM at the pool. Already saw Dawes. Very good, but the pool is too. Will be up front for Gary Clark. Hate that I will not catch Wild Cub...they are good. Will be up front for Black Keys. Highly recommend catching some of Los Colognes and Valerie June's set. Won't complain about Friday's lineup.

I'll basically at the Boom Boom Tent all day friday. Herobust is a must see at 11:45, debating between Allen Stone and the Black Lips will probably see RAC at 1:30. Still deciding between Ingrid Michaelson and Valerie June, as well as Dawes and Claude Vonstroke. Seeing Wiz Khalifa at 5 then probably leaving his set early to get good spots for Childish Gambino at 6:15. Not sure if seeing QOTA, Conor Oberst, or Gemini Club yet. Then closing out the night with StS9.

That setlist is great. I'm sure they'll throw more Southernplayalistic stuff in there in place of the Future songs, and hopefully they stay away from too much of Andre's slower solo stuff, but that setlist is everything you could ask for. They've got two solid hours at Hangout too, so hopefully there won't be the cutoff issues. It's really strange that arguably the biggest festival in North America couldn't get the sound right for a headliner. And man, that was one of the worst crowds I've ever seen.
I expect the Hangout crowd to be way more live that that. It looked like a bunch of kids that only knew the post-2000 radio hits. The pacing of the show could have been a bit better, with that lull in the middle, but I'm excited as can be about them getting a few more shows under their belt before their first show on a beach.

I agree. I'm sure they'll throw in older stuff in the Hangout set because it is a southern festival.

also, Trombone Shorty just KILLED it in SF last night at The Warfield. It's a slightly different experience seeing him & Orleans Ave outdoors at a festival vs. an indoor venue as the sound dissipates somewhat and they can't jam as much due to time constraints, but if they bring half the energy they brought last night you won't be disappointed by their set.
Did a great jam on "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love," some old school N'awlins songs including a lively 'O' When the Saints," and perhaps most impressively a ridic cover of Green Day's "Brain Stew" where Shorty played the vocals on the trombone with the crowd singing the words.

Yeah I don't think the Hangout crowd will let them down the way Coachella's did!

watched their coachella webcast, we are in for a treat seeing as they'll have an additional 25 minutes at hangout. even with the more abbreviated set they still put on an incredibly show, and the "brain stew" cover/jam session was on full display. hopefully they'll use the extra 25 minutes to give everyone some old school 'nawlins jams.
i took a couple mins of vid from their warfield show, was too busy jamming out to take a lot but you get the idea.

It looks like Chance The Rapper is canceling a lot of shows. He came down with the flu and tonsillitis. I wonder if he'll cancel Hangout and if so who will they replace him with.

ASAP Ferg is a decent hip-hop act making festival rounds this year and he has an opening that weekend. Could be a nice switch out! It'd make my decision for that time slot that much harder though...

I really hope Chance is able to perform I saw him in Cleveland but it was so packed with little teeny boppers(it was a Mac Miller concert, big mistake, I know) and I actually want to enjoy seeing him this time. If they do replace him I'd be down with Vic Mensa, Isiah Rashad, Earl Sweatshirt, Ab-Soul, J. Cole, A$ap Ferg, Vince Staples, Run The Jewels, or Dom Kennedy.
